We work to provide great value for your unique BCI experience. For our Singing Weeks, your tuition covers lodging, most meals, access to fine rehearsal and concert venues, and the opportunity to sing with a professional orchestra and work with world-class faculty, soloists, and conductors. Travel to and from the event location are on your own. Tuition is based on double occupancy. Each week has various housing options and upgrades which are made available after acceptance into the program. Any exceptions are noted under each program description.
For standard tuition, an application fee of $200 for each participant (including non-singers) is required for Singing Weeks. For Workshop Programs (3 days or less), the fee is $50. Application fees are non-refundable, however if we are not able to offer you a spot in at least one program, we will return your fee.
First time participants (individuals who have not yet attended an in-person BCI event) are eligible for a Newcomer Discount of 25% off the standard tuition fee, along with waived application fees. Singer ages 18-45 are eligible for a Next Generation Discount of 35% off the standard tuition fee, along with waived application fees. Discounts may not be combined.
Next Gen Scholarships
A limited number of partial scholarships prioritizing Next Generation singers ages 18-45 are available for 2024. These are in addition to the Next Generation discount and will total an approximate 65% reduction in tuition. The simple merit-based application process does not require personal financial information. Awards will be announced with acceptance decisions and will be applied to the tuition amount due. Scholarship support is available for our domestic programs. The Vienna program is excluded. Here is our Next Gen Scholarship Application. Please contact shager@berkshirechoral.org for more information.
Non-singer tuition
Designed for spouses and partners of singers, this fee includes the same items as standard tuition, minus participation in the chorus in rehearsals and concert. Non-singers may observe rehearsals and attend classes. A non-singer is anyone attending a BCI week – individually or along with a singing participant – who will not be part of the chorus.
Commuter tuition
Some of our venues do not allow us to offer commuter tuition rates. When available, it includes the same items as standard tuition, minus accommodations. Commuters are usually eligible for two meals per day on site with the group; this will be detailed in your specific program. A commuter is anyone attending a BCI week who wishes to secure their own accommodations (hotel, their own home, etc.) outside of the chosen BCI venue and commute back and forth for rehearsals. In selected locations, we also offer a Local Singer Rate to encourage participation from singers who live in the program vicinity. Proof of a primary residence within 30 miles of the event location is required. Please refer to specific programs for availability. The Local Singer Rate also includes lunch and dinners with the group and a complimentary parking pass.
Travel is not included in any of the tuition levels.
